Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology
Focusing on the whole person is central to my practice. I view my clients as multifaceted individuals, which involves looking at their intersectional identities and how the mind and body influence each other. Using this approach also aligns with my goal of providing trauma-informed care, as trauma affects all parts of an individual. Since trauma often robs people of a sense of control and power, I offer clients who have experienced trauma choice, autonomy, and flexibility.
Another essential component of my work involves witnessing clients’ stories by giving plenty of space for those stories to be held and respected. My approach helps clients connect with their inner child and inner self, promoting healing and personal growth. I believe that the core of all humans, referred to as the Self, is fully healed, but many parts inside us need curiosity, compassion, and attention to work toward healing. Through the Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach, I aim to help clients find this kind of care for their many parts, working towards allowing their fully healed Self to lead their lives.
I am a clinical intern working towards my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at DePaul University. My practice focuses on working with adolescents and young adults, using a trauma-informed approach that incorporates aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Narrative Therapy techniques, Person-Centered Therapy (PCT), Feminist Theory, Attachment Theory, and mindfulness techniques. I view clients holistically using these therapeutic approaches, allowing all aspects of the mind, body, and soul to be incorporated.
