Welcome to the clinical training program at Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology! We are dedicated to fostering the growth of emerging therapists and are proud to offer comprehensive training opportunities for both masters and doctoral level students in counseling, social work, and psychology. Our program provides a supportive and challenging environment focused on a commitment to overcoming obstacles to treatment, working with members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and providing services to underserved populations.

Program Highlights:

  • Gain extensive direct client hours working with individuals and potentially with couples or families.
  • Develop your group therapy skills by co-facilitating existing groups or creating your own.
  • Receive high-quality individual supervision weekly from licensed clinicians (LCSW or LCPC for masters level, PsyD for doctoral level).
  • Participate in weekly group supervision for additional support and learning.
  • Collaborate with our team in staff meetings held three times per month.

Masters Level Internship Program

Our Masters Level Internship Program is designed to provide graduate students in counseling or social work programs with a comprehensive clinical experience. Interns will gain hands-on experience in providing therapy services while receiving close supervision and support from our experienced team. We typically select 2-3 interns per training year.

Doctoral Level Externship Program

Our Doctoral Level Externship Program offers advanced clinical training for doctoral students in psychology. Externs will have the opportunity to develop their skills in assessment, diagnosis, and psychotherapy while working with a diverse clientele. Individual supervision on a weekly basis with a member of our supervisory team (PsyD).

Our Application and Interview Process Description

We carefully review all applications and strive to provide a timely response. Applications are accepted in November and December of each year. We will review submissions in January and conduct interviews from February through March. We follow current ACEPT timing guidelines for all doctoral students.

The application process includes the following steps

  1. Application Submission: Submit your application and all required documents through the online form below.
  2. Application Review: Our training team will review all submitted materials.
  3. Group Interview: Selected candidates will be invited to participate in a group interview via Zoom. This allows you to meet our team and for us to learn more about your clinical experience, interests, and professional approach.
  4. Individual Interviews: Following the group interview, a smaller group of candidates will be invited for individual interviews with potential supervisors.
  5. Offer and Decision: If an offer is extended, you will be given ample time to consider your options.
