Psychotherapist

A Ram Dass quote best captures my approach to therapy: “All you can do for another person is be an environment in which, if they wanted to come up for air, they could.”

My goal is to be that environment for you, to meet you where you are, and to discover together what “coming up for air” looks like for you. That may mean building a toolbox of concrete strategies to support symptom management, emotional regulation, and stress coping. That may mean processing childhood experiences to gain insight into your current thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationship dynamics. That may mean identifying where you feel stuck and where you have agency to make a change, developing a plan based on your natural strengths and anticipated obstacles, and supporting you through the implementation and maintenance. Whatever the case, I am here to sit with you and support you in whatever human experience you’re having.

I take an eclectic approach, incorporating techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), existential therapy, motivational interviewing, parts work/internal family systems (IFS), psychodynamic, and narrative therapy, as well as mindfulness-based therapy. Beyond any modality, though, I believe the counseling relationship is at the heart of therapeutic growth. I see therapy as a collaborative effort, combining my expertise in clinical counseling and mental health with your expertise on what it’s like to be you. Accordingly, my practice is person-centered, strengths-based, and deeply rooted in compassion and presence.

I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have experience addressing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, and identity issues, among others. I operate from a queer-affirming, social-justice-oriented perspective. If you are looking for a safe, caring space to process your experiences, explore the questions that matter to you, and find a path to joy and wellbeing, I would be honored to go on that journey with you.
