Psychotherapist

Much of my career has been working with adolescents and adults as they navigate grief and loss, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma and those struggling with all forms of eating disorders and disordered eating.

As a therapist, I enjoy working alongside those wanting to reclaim their bodies and break free from diet culture. My work is trauma-informed, anti-diet, fat-affirming and informed by feminist theory and relational theory. I draw from a well of resources, utilizing components from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Coherence Therapy, Internal Family Systems/Parts Work, somatic therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, and person-centered therapy. I believe in the transformational power of experiential therapies (e.g. psychodrama, parts work, sand tray, etc.) as these can invite more awareness to the relationships we have to our somatic, emotional and embodied experiences.

I’ve been deeply inspired by the work of Sonya Renee Taylor, Lidia Yuknavitch, adrienne maree brown, Carmen Cool, Francis Weller, Rachel Lewis-Marlow, Anne Lamott, Emily Nagoski, Janina Fisher, Cristien Storm, Roxane Gay, Pat Ogden, Adele Lafrance, Aubrey Gordon, Andrea Gibson, Holly Truhlar, Rachel Milner, Shilo George and so many more writers, activists and clinicians.
