The Grief Sessions: an AMP Workshop Series with Kelsey Hoeper, LPC
Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology is proud to introduce The Grief Sessions, an ongoing series of workshops centered on the diverse experiences of grief. Facilitated by Kelsey Hoeper, LPC (with occasional collaborators) these workshops offer a flexible, low-barrier way to engage with the grieving process.
Each session is unique—ranging in duration, location (in-office or remote), and focus—allowing you to choose the support that fits your current capacity. Join us to find community, gain insight, and share space with fellow grievers in a supportive, mindful environment.

More from Kelsey on why this series was developed…
The Grief Sessions center grief as a universal experience that entangles us all—past, present, and future. This series does not claim to offer every answer. Instead, grief tending invites complexity; it welcomes the “ifs,” the “ands,” and the “also this.”
Grieving is an ongoing process and, therefore, a radical act of defiance. To grieve is to declare: “I will slow down. I will not rush. I will honor what matters.” Grief tending is never truly finished; it is a practice we return to with reverence. We gather to consider how we might expand our capacity to hold the difficult questions.
We live in a time of unrest and disruption. As Francis Weller wrote, “We can no longer divide the world out there from the world in here.” As things change rapidly, our heartbreak deserves our attention. May we find comfort in knowing that the medicine for these challenges lies in our collective wisdom, our unique gifts, and the sanctuary of community, nature, and play.
We believe that support during grief should be accessible, regardless of financial circumstances. To live out this value, The Grief Sessions utilizes a Community-Pay Model.
This tiered-system allows us to offer a range of price points for each workshop. We invite you to choose the tier that best reflects your current financial reality. By choosing a higher tier, you directly “pay it forward,” creating space for fellow grievers to access these sessions at a lower cost.
We want to ensure every participant feels comfortable and informed before a session begins.
Inquiry: Email Kelsey Hoeper at khoeper@andersonville.com to express interest, they will send you a Workshop Overview & Agreements form to complete, and offer their availability to connect by phone.
The Connection Call: All interested participants must be scheduled to meet with Kelsey for a FREE 10–15 minute phone call. This is a space to discuss the workshop topic, ask any direct questions, and confirm your paid rate for which workshop you’d like to attend.
The Paperwork: Once you decide to move forward, Kelsey will collect your confirmed workshop fee and send you a few AMP-required forms related to workshop consent and practice privacy policies.
For workshops involving gentle, somatic movement, please know that all activities are adaptable. Kelsey H. is available to provide modifications for any movement or standing portions of the practice. If you’d like to discuss this in advance, please email Kelsey directly: khoeper@andersonville.com.
AMP is committed to making our space welcoming and accessible. Our office is located on the first floor with no steps to navigate. If you use a mobility device, please let us know in advance, and a team member will be happy to assist you with a smooth entry. We also have two ADA-compliant, all-gender restrooms.
For public transit, we are a short distance from the CTA Red Line’s Bryn Mawr station and CTA’s Broadway and Peterson bus lines. Metered street parking is available on Broadway and Bryn Mawr Avenues.
The group room is furnished with armless, cushioned chairs designed to comfortably accommodate a wide range of body types. The room’s layout can be adjusted to ensure everyone feels comfortable and has enough space. Masks are available in the lobby for those who wish to wear them, but they are not required for clients or staff at this time.
As an LGBTQ+ affirming practice, we warmly welcome members of the queer community to all of our group therapy offerings.
