Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology
My approach to therapeutic work is to build a collaborative partnership, creating a space of authenticity and introspection. The foundation of therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship. I believe in fostering a genuine connection built on empathy, understanding, and a touch of humor.
I aim to create a safe, supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I seek to affirm your full self, even the pieces that may challenge or frustrate you. Every aspect of who you are has brought you to this point, and together, we can explore what works and what doesn’t as you move forward – this may look like challenging ingrained narratives or gaining new meaning to your unique perspectives. Whatever the goal, I will be there as a resource to provide compassionate support as you best see fit.
I draw from a Rogerian, person-centered framework, emphasizing strengths and growth potential for each client. I also incorporate elements of Motivational Interviewing, Relational Cultural Therapy (RCT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and varied mindfulness techniques. With a background in community mental health, I also keep a holistic perspective of how identity and various social factors influence your journey. I believe that we all have the capacity to find meaning and resilience, even amid life’s many challenges. I am committed to creating an inclusive and affirming space for individuals from all backgrounds.
I hold a master’s degree in social work from the University of Chicago. Outside the office, I can be found by the lake, losing at trivia or darts, or, more likely than not, at the movies.
