Andersonville Mindfulness & Psychology
I absolutely love what I do—I have had the privilege of working in this field in some capacity for more than 30 years. As a therapist, I am a compassionate and dedicated professional with extensive experience in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds, particularly persons with disabilities, racial and ethnic populations, and underserved communities. With a strong commitment to social justice and equity, I have enjoyed a career centered on promoting empowerment, inclusion, and respect for all individuals, regardless of their life circumstances.
Drawing upon a person-centered and humanistic theoretical approach, I help to create supportive environments that recognize the unique worth of each individual. This approach emphasizes the importance of understanding the whole person, respecting their experiences, and supporting their right to self-determination and personal growth. Through active listening, empathy, and collaborative goal-setting, I work with individuals to develop skills, navigate challenges, and pursue their aspirations. I am highly committed to fostering environments where everyone can thrive, honoring the richness of their identities and experiences. I am also very passionate about continuous learning. I regularly engage in professional development to stay current with best practices in person-centered care, disability advocacy, and culturally responsive services.
Examples of my work experience:
I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, motivation, self-esteem, and confidence, career difficulties, and depression. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
