Psychotherapist

My approach to therapy is client-centered, meaning you are the expert of your own life, and I am here to help guide you along your journey toward healing. I do this by providing you with a calm, comforting, and safe space where I actively listen to you, validate your feelings and experiences, and help you work toward the goals you set.

My job is to help provide you with the tools you need to grow into the best version of yourself. Some theories that I employ in my therapeutic process include strengths-based theory, person-centered theory, feminist theory, and relational theory. I also like to incorporate mindfulness-based practices (e.g., yoga, meditation, coloring, etc.) into my approach, as I believe mindfulness is essential to the healing process. I am particularly interested in how our past experiences impact who we are today, and through trauma-informed practices, I work with my clients to help them better understand how their past experiences have shaped them.

I am experienced in utilizing Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy with my clients. I especially enjoy working with children, adolescents, young adults, and LGBTQIA+ individuals.

I hold a Master of Social Work Degree from Loyola University. Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time cuddling with my kitties, reading a good book by the lake, playing volleyball with friends, baking, or tending to my plants. I look forward to meeting you and embarking on this journey with you towards growth and healing.
